The River Club is a charming oasis on the Zambezi River situated 18 kilometres upstream from the renowned Victoria Falls – a World Heritage Site.

Overlooking the river and pods of hippo into the Zambezi National Park, the 11 luxury chalets are renowned for their spectacular views and romantic ambience.

Soaked in history, the restored 1940s homestead has a comfortable lounge, dining room, library and veranda where breakfasts and teas are enjoyed. Midday meals are often served in the lush gardens spread out beneath the trees. The gazebo and Summer House (with games room) are alternatives for private dining (this can be used as a 16 delegate board room style conference facility). The pool seems part of the river itself, and beauty treatments are available in the Spa.

Activities :
The River Club has a summer house with snooker room, infinity swimming pool overlooking the Zambezi River and croquet on the lawn. For the energetic, there is a gym, running track and tennis court. Nature walks are offered on the property.

In addition guests can take advantage of the following inclucive activities from the lodge:
• Sundowner Cruise
• Catch-and-Release Fishing
• Interpretive game drives
• Livingstone Town Tours
• Victoria Falls Tour (on the Zambian side)

Adventure Activities are available at an additional cost.
Adrenalin activities on offer in the area include helicopter flights, micro-lighting, canoeing, jet boating, white water rafting, river boarding, abseiling, specialist birding, and a Livingstone Island lunch, to name a few.
Community and Conservation:
Committed to Wilderness Safaris’ 4Cs ethic, The River Club contributes to various projects to support the local Zambian community and their conservation efforts.

Cultural Community Visit. Community involvement is vital in the Livingstone area and one of The River Club’s projects is cultural visits to a nearby village. Projects are focused particularly on assisting children via schooling and income-generating activities.

Pack for a Purpose. Wilderness has partnered with Pack for a Purpose, an innovative way that guests can help by packing stationery or other small amenities and bringing these when they visit a school or village. The River Club is part of this project.

Elephant Chilli Pepper Project – Run by the Elephant Pepper Development Trust, this project helps farmers protect their food crops and generate income. Dried chillies mixed with dung produce briquettes to burn at night and a paste is used to grease a ‘chilli fence’ to keep the elephants away.
