This fabulous 8 day safari gives you the chance to experience the vibrant energy of Johannesburg, with tours of the city, Soweto, the world class Johannesburg Art Gallery and the fun filled entertainment resort of Sun City available for you to explore. Days 3, 4 and 5 take you to the Okavango Delta, one of the worlds most extraordinary places with unmatched game viewing opportunities. Days 6 and 7 are for traveling to and then exploring the magestic Victoria Falls and enjoying the myriad of exciting and inspiring activities on offer. Day 8 includes a last leisurely breakfast before transfer to Victoria Falls Airport for departure.

Day 1:                   Safari Club SA, Johannesburg

Johannesburg is one of Africa’s biggest and most vibrant cities. It is the economic capital of Africa and the gateway to Southern Africa. Although not as famous as other South African destinations, there is plenty to do in Johannesburg and nearby Pretoria. The old city is a multi-cultural mixture of traditional medicine shops, Chinese restaurants, taxi ranks and ultra modern skyscrapers. There are excellent museums, art galleries and organised tours of historical and political interest. The shopping is Southern Africa’s best and the many restaurants cater for all tastes. The nearby township of Soweto is Johannesburg’s most popular tourist attraction

Johannesburg Tour

Johannesburg Southern Africa’s economic powerhouse and although it is the city of gold there are many attractions aside from mining. Much of the big business has moved from the old town but the fascinating stories and historical buildings remain. Major sites include the Carlton Centre (Africa’s tallest building), the iconic Brixton Tower, Newtown, the Constitutional Court, the Nelson Mandela Bridge and the Origins Centre.

Soweto Day Tour

A Soweto Day Tours takes in the highlights of this iconic township including Nelson Mandela’s former home and the Hector Pieterson museum (he was one of the school children who was shot in the 1976 Soweto Uprising).
You will get close to Soweto Culture, meeting the people, trying local foods and maybe even some Omqombothi (our traditional beer) at a shebeen. This tour is one of a kind, the smell of pavement cooked meals and the buzz in the streets of people going about their daily chores. Come and experience township life, the humanity, hospitality and warmth of the people, the “Ubuntu” as it is known in South Africa.

Johannesburg Art Gallery

Located in Joubert Park, Johannesburg Art Gallery (JAG) houses a diverse collection of art that includes Impressionist paintings, a collection of paintings by Dutch masters, the Brenthurst and Traditional collections of beadwork and headdresses, and a myriad of other valuable and captivating historical artworks, as well as regular temporary modern exhibitions.

Overnight: Safari Club SA

Safari Club SA is a lodge with an African theme located in Johannesburg, South Africa. The Club is centrally situated in the economic heartland of South Africa – Gauteng Province. The capital city, Pretoria, is approximately 50km away and Johannesburg only 18km. Emperor’s Palace, a world class casino with more than 12 restaurants, is only 7km down the road. The well-known Pilanesberg area with its nature reserves and Sun City complex is 150km by road and it is 400km to the world-renowned Kruger National Park in Mpumalanga.
The Club has a luxurious yet homely ambience. The public areas comprise lounges, a bar, a business centre as well as a separate breakfast room. A beautiful new swimming pool has been installed to ensure the comfort and relaxation of guests during the hot African summer. The bar is decorated as a tribute to the famous Nguni cattle and adorned with beautiful fittings in this theme.

Day 3:                   Moremi Crossing, Okavango Delta

Lying in the middle of the largest expanse of sand on earth the Okavango Delta is one of Africa’s most amazing, sensitive and complex environments supporting a spectacle of wilderness and wildlife. Unique as one of the world’s few inland deltas, the placid waters and lush indigenous forests offer a safe haven for innumerable bird and wildlife species. The Okavango Delta offers a number of activities for the visitor; game viewing, birding and fishing are all on offer. One can experience this magical world of islands and waterways from land, air and water. Highlights include the elusive Sitatunga antelope which has found refuge in this pristine wetland ecosystem, while birds such as the African fish eagle, Pel’s fishing owl and many others provide a spectacular display.

Moremi Game Reserve

The amazing foresight of Chief Moremi created one of the world’s most famous reserves, conserving part of the Okavango Delta and the plains to its east. The reserve covers more than 4871 square kilometres of pristine wilderness, and the varied terrain includes savannah, winding waterways, and thick forest.
This diversity supports an incredibly wide spectrum of wildlife, ranging from large herds of buffalo, wildebeest and zebra, to the rare sitatunga and lechwe antelope, and lion, cheetah and packs of wild dog in the open grasslands. The birdlife is prolific and includes most of the 550 bird species recorded on the Botswana national bird list. A range of luxury lodges in the reserve offer visitors the perfect base to experience this corner of paradise.

Overnight: Moremi Crossing

Moremi Crossing is a new 16 tented camp built on a palm fringed island surrounded by the Moremi’s game-rich seasonal floodplains and overlooking Chief’s Island. Moremi Crossing will be a new style safari camp combining luxury with simplicity. This is a 100% eco-friendly development featuring the latest in solar and waste disposal technology. Accommodation consists of 16 en suite and spacious tents on raised decks, each with their own veranda. We have both a Family Tent and a Honeymoon Tent. The Okavango is an immense river that never meets the sea. Instead, its crystal clear waters spread across the Kalahari Desert, forming Africa ‘s largest wetland wonder. Day 6:                   Victoria Falls Safari Lodge, Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe

Day 6 involves travelling to Kasane via airplane and then a short and very scenic road transfer to Victoria Falls.  Once in Victoria Falls, there will be time to explore and enjoy the town before dinner at Victoria Falls Safari Lodge.  One of the original natural wonders of the world, the Victoria Falls is a World Heritage Site and an extremely popular tourism attraction. Known locally as ‘The Smoke that Thunders’ this spectacle is accessible from both Zambia and Zimbabwe and it is an ideal place to combine a game viewing and water sports. There is excellent fishing, a terrifying bungee jump and arguably the best commercial white water rafting in the world.

Victoria Falls is blessed with an abundance of activities to suit everyone from the adrenaline junkie to the more sedate adventurer. If you are an adrenalin junkie you will love activities such as the white water rafting, gorge swing and bungee jumping.  If you’d like to sit back and enjoy the scenery then the river cruises, game drives and cultural tours are likely to be most appealing. You can also take it up a notch with the flight of angels helicopter ride, offering incredible views of the area. If you that are keen to get out and about to soak up some sun and explore the area surrounding the Victoria Falls. Take your pick from guided tours and walks to horse riding, canoeing, golfing and fishing.

The Boma Restaurant

Described as an unforgettable African experience infused with Zimbabwean cuisine, spirited performances and traditional storytelling, The Boma – Place of Eating has firmly established itself as a Victoria Falls highlight. Partially open to the skies, The Boma specialises in a superb selection of Zimbabwean dishes. A four-course meal combines a choice of starters with a barbecue buffet. The adventurous are enticed with local delicacies such as mopani worms and potjiekos (hunter’s game stew), whilst those wishing to enjoy beef, pork, fish and chicken or a variety of vegetarian meals are welcome to do so. The sights and sounds of the evening are accentuated by a feast of nightly entertainment, incorporating traditional dancers, who captivate guests with their vibrant songs and dance.
